The hilarious music theater performance Basta Diva turned out to be a firework of artistic energy when soprano Françoise Vanhecke and producer Lieven Debrauwer put their creative heads together. Light designer Cecile De Troyer was brought in and so the "Holy Trinity" came into existence that inspired BASTA DIVA. A hilarious, multi-layered show for every age.

In Basta Diva, Françoise plays the role of Lucia Carmella Pommodori di Monte Carlo, who gives a concert. However, this concert is getting a bit out of hand and the cleaning team of the theater is allowed to clean it up and it is completely unexpected to provide an apotheosis.

Françoise fascinates and plays, literally and figuratively. She accompanies herself on the piano and sometimes plays the tiles of the roof as a fallen and twisted diva. A diva from us with a clock of a voice. A lady with allure, style and sense of humor. Classical, opera, contemporary, chanson, cabaret, pop. She brings music as a world language. Lieven plays the role of master of ceremonies and presenter, who is gradually getting tired of the cures of the diva who does not want to see that she is over her top. Diva Basta is a hilarious show full of emotion, emotion, humor and laughter.

Déluges et Autres Péripéties (2014-15) Extrait de Annette Vande Gorne/Werner Lambersy. Avec les voix de Werner Lambersy, récitant - Françoise Vanhecke, soprano (inhaling singer ISFV®, improvisator) - Annette Vande Gorne, voix transformée et lecture des citations - 16 pistes « Nous attendons la destruction ». Cette phrase comme une litanie qui s’applique à toutes les activités des sociétés humaines aujourd’hui, m’a frappée par son implacable évidence. J’ai construit une suite enchaînée de courtes scènes différentes, avec les improvisations de Françoise Vanhecke et la nouvelle technique de chant par inhalation (inhaling voice) qu’elle a mise au point comme principale source de matériaux sonores. L’esprit de la pièce est celui d’un hörspiel en forme de cantate. Elle est encore inachevée, car prévue dans une forme longue de 45 à 60’. Avec l’aide du WBI (Wallonie-Bruxelles International), œuvre réalisée dans le studio 16 canaux « PanaRoma » de l’université de l’état de Sao Paulo (merci à Flo Menezes) et dans le studio 16 canaux « Métamorphoses d’Orphée » de Musiques et Recherches (Ohain, Belgique).

In collaboration with the Musée Grétry - As part of the exhibition Liège. Masterpieces.
This concert for 4 hands and 2 pianos, based on a call for partitions, promotes the works of Belgian and foreign composers in world creations, performed by Belgian artists.The works, lasting 3 minutes, display a multitude of styles and musical atmospheres. The concert features a selection of 21 composers, most of whom are European: Belgium, France, Spain, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece and Cuba and the United States of America.
After a first creation in Brussels on December 1st, 2018, this event will discover these new works in Liège, in the presence of composers.

Since 1984, the Logos women ensemble has been performing on national and international stages. The ensemble has a varying line-up and uses field recordings, non-conventional instruments, music boxes and vocal techniques. Founding member and pivotal figure Moniek Darge gathers old(er) and new(er) members of the ensemble for this special performance. Singer Françoise Vanhecke, flutist Karin Defleyt and violinist Barbara Buchowiec, together with Moniek Darge, bring both new and older work.

"Tristesses":if the name is here plural, it means that it is both that of a Scandinavian island, a police suspense, a political symptom. The island is hardly imaginary. Anne-Cécile Vandalem has located a fable for our time. Martha Heiger, leader of the Popular Awakening Party and favorite of the next elections, returns to Tristesses to repatriate the body of her mother on the continent. But why did Ida commit suicide while hanging on to the Danish flag? And what does her daughter really do? "Tristesses" being also a Nordic thriller, we will not reveal more here, but the isolated houses on the night of the set are the scenery of a drama where outdoor stage and indoor filmed alternate on a pace worthy of the best series. Finally, Tristesses proposes a reflection on the rise of populisms: according to Vandalem, "the sadness of the peoples" is today one of the most formidable techniques of manipulation of the spirits. But "tears", she adds, "have an infinite aesthetic power", indeterminable, and "emotions can be momentum, motor, energy to initiate an active speech or act". This energy conquered in 2016 the audience of the Festival d'Avignon: by exposing the enslaving mechanisms of sadness, the artist invites you not to succumb to them.

30 september 2016: Françoise Vanhecke treedt samen met Tareq Alsayed Yahay op in het kader van "10 jaar wolkenbreiers".

Ter gelegenheid van het tienjarige bestaan van het radioprogramma "De wolkenbreiers", treedt Françoise Vanhecke op samen met Tareq Alsayed Yahay.
Je kan Françoise een eerste maal aan het werk zien op vrijdag 30 september in de Oude Beurs, Hofstraat 15 te Antwerpen om 20 uur.

Tijdens het "Festival D'Avignon" speelt sopraan Françoise Vanhecke de rol van Ida Heiger in het humoristische theaterstuk "Tristesses".
Het stuk is een creatie van Anne-Cécile Vandalem en ontleedt met veel humor het huidige nationalistische klimaat in Europa en de manier waarop politieke partijen hele volkeren in het verdriet storten bij wijze van politiek wapen.
Fictie en realiteit ontmoeten elkaar in deze thriller waarin de personages gevangen raken in grappige en wrede houdingen en waarin de verraderlijke macht van de media een dominante rol speelt.
U kan Françoise Vanhecke aan het werk zien in het "Gymnase du lycée Aubanel", te Avignon van 8 tot 14 juli 2016.

Zondag a.s. (23 augustus) treedt Françoise op voor groot en klein!

Het optreden is als Badkuipdiva van 14u00 tot 14u30 en van 15u30u tot 16u00, locatie: aan de Broeltorens. De toegang is gratis.

"KLANG ! électroacoustique – Festival 2015"

Sopraan Françoise Vanhecke doet mee aan roeiwedstrijd

Zopas heeft IPEM, voluit Instituut voor Psycho-acoestische en elektronische muziek, beslist sopraan Françoise Vanhecke op te nemen in hun team dat meedoet aan de Sinksenregatta van Kortrijk op 25 mei.

Samen met de Stad Kortrijk, Kajak Club Kortrijk, en het Guldensporencollege organiseert JCI Kortrijk die regatta waar 48 teams een gooi doen naar de felbegeerde beker. Ieder team telt maximum 6 mensen die samen plaatsnemen op een grote kano. Onder begeleiding van een ervaren stuurman van de Kortrijkse Kajak Club wordt de sprint van 400 m op de 'Oude Leiearm' ingezet. De origineelste deelnemersgroep wint een unieke prijs. Om hun kansen hoog te houden heeft IPEM Françoise Vanhecke gevraagd aan te treden met een special act. "Wat Françoise precies zal doen mogen we uiteraard niet verklappen", zegt Luc Nijs, docent aan het IPEM. De regatta heeft plaats aan de Verzetskaai vanaf 12 uur.

Soprano Françoise Vanhecke is a contemporary, daring, power performing and creative artist. She works closely with composers from around the world. She developed a new extended technique, ISFV® Inhaling Singing, which is part of her doctoral research at the University College, School of Arts; IPEM - Dept. of musicology, Ghent University. She appears on the show bills of the world’s leading music festivals and theatres and received different international awards. Françoise Vanhecke will perform music by Händel, Mozart, Puccini, Satie and Irma Bilbao and will play the ocean-drum and the Theremin.

On thursday january 29, Françoise will feature in a radio show by Rudi Claessens on Radio Centraal.

Concert d'improvisation

On Thursday, November 28 at 19h00, there is a "Concert d'improvisation" by Françoise Vanhecke (voice), Fanny Tran (voice, violon alto, celesta, etc... ) and Mike Goeyvaerts (percussion).

The place to be is the Galerie "Estampille", Espace-Rencontre, 75 rue de Pavie at 1000, Schaarbeek, Bruxelles; on the occasion of the aquarel exposition from Nicole Verheyden.

In zijn onderzoeksproject "Exploring the symbiosis of Western and non-Western Music" stelde Olmo Cornelis de beschrijving van Centraal-Afrikaanse muziek centraal. Deze werd verkend via computationele technieken die de klank als signaal benaderden.
In het kader van de afronding van dit doctoraal onderzoek spelen het HERMESensemble, het Nadar Ensemble, Maja Jantar en Françoise Vanhecke op 18 december werk van Olmo Cornelis dat tijdens dit project geschreven werd.
Exploring the symbiosis of Western and non-Western Music werd in 2008 geïnitieerd aan het Conservatorium / School of Arts van de HoGent en werd gefinancierd door het onderzoeksfonds Hogeschool Gent.

Zondag 1 December - 10.30u: Little Things” Katrijn Friant en Françoise Vanhecke – 'Little things’ voice & piano

“Auch kleine Dinge können uns entzücken, auch kleine Dinge können teuer sein.” Met deze woorden start het eerste lied uit het Italienisches Liederbuch van Hugo Wolf. Je hebt nl. kleine liedjes en je hebt liederen over kleine dingen of over kleine mensen....Je hebt kleine instrumenten en instrumenten met een kleine omvang....Je hebt kleinkunst en kunst met een kleine k…. De fascinatie voor kleine dingen is van alle tijden en van alle beschavingen. Françoise Vanhecke en Katrijn Friant laten in hun nieuwste programma alle aspecten van voornoemde kleinoden horen, in werk van Satie, Wolf, Naske, Bilbao en vele anderen.

12 december 2013 tot 15 december 2013: "Kleine Pastorale" in poppentheater Damiet van Dalsum

Van 12 december 2013 tot en met 15 december 2013 treedt Françoise Vanhecke op als sopraan in het kerstpoppenspel "Kleine Pastorale". Dit in de tuin van poppentheater Damiet Van Dalsum.

"KLEINE PASTORALE", een kerstpoppenspel voor jong en oud.

In de tuin (overdekt) van poppentheater Damiet van Dalsum wordt de "Kleine Pastorale" gespeeld. Een voorstelling voor jong en oud. Medewerkenden zijn: Françoise Vanhecke (sopraan), Damiet van Dalsum (spel / poppen). Er wordt gespeeld met tafelpoppen. Het publiek zit in de 'stal'. Twee herderinnen brengen het publiek naar de stal in Bethlehem. Het is koud. De os en de ezel geven warmte met hun adem. Daar wordt het Kindje geboren. Iedereen komt kijken. Het is een groot feest. De herders, de wijzen, de muziekinstrumenten en de engelen aanbidden het Kind. Poppenspel op locatie in een bijzondere sfeer voor jong en oud. Deze voorstelling gaat ook op tournee.

19 december 2013: "More than a voice", Solo optreden in CC Zoetegem.

Donderdag 19 december 2013: solo-optreden "More than a voice" met Françoise Vanhecke in de hoofdrol.

De Vlaamse sopraan Françoise Vanhecke geniet internationale faam. Ze is gekend als zangeres, pianiste, actrice, stempedagoge, vocal coach en componiste.
Speciaal voor CC Zoetegem neemt ze haar publiek mee op een unieke reis doorheen de wereld van de opera. In ‘More than a voice’ brengt ze een unieke selectie grote aria’s en bekende melodieën uit de muziekgeschiedenis. Haar wereldwijd erkend zangtalent en de vele jaren podiumervaring zorgen voor een avond entertainment in stijl.

Friday, 12th July 2013: Françoise presents her new Inhaling Singing technique at the ICVT in Brisbane

The International Congress of Voice Teachers convenes for its eighth international gathering in Brisbane, Australia. It offers an extended program of master classes, performances, workshops, research papers, round table discussions, poster presentations, ... – opportunities for all those attending to meet and engage with fellow singing professionals.

Françoise Vanhecke will present her innovative Inhaling Singing technique ISFV and will also attend a panel presentation with Cathy Aggett, Margaret Schindler and Catherine Watts about a typology of 20th and 21st century vocal techniques.
