1) November 22: "Getekende klanken - tentoonstelling grafische partituren"
On Thursday night, November 22, there is the grand opening for this exposition and the presentation of the publication in the library "Centrale Bibliotheek" in Leuven.
The evening will start with a musical and a graphical note, afterwards you will be guided through the exposition.
The agenda is as follows:

3) November 30
On November 30, Tram 10 organises a prospection day in zZmogh.
Françoise Vanhecke will close the evening with a fragment from her surprising and accessible show Basta Diva.
All this will happen on this location: Engelbert van Arenbergstraat 41, 940 Gent/Sint-Amandsberg (at walking distance from the train station Gent-Dampoort, where you can also find ample parking spots).

4) December: KLEINE PASTORALE, een kerstpoppenspel voor jong en oud
In de tuin (overdekt) van poppentheater Damiet van Dalsum wordt een kerstpoppenspel opgevoerd voor jong en oud.
Medewerkenden zijn:

• Françoise Vanhecke (sopraan)
• Damiet van Dalsum (spel / poppen)

Er wordt gespeeld met tafelpoppen. Het publiek zit in de 'stal'. Twee herderinnen brengen het publiek naar de stal in Bethlehem. Het is koud. De os en de ezel geven warmte met hun adem. Het Kind wordt geboren. Iedereen komt kijken. Het is een groot feest. De herders, de wijzen, de muziekinstrumenten en de engelen aanbidden het Kind.
Poppenspel op locatie in een bijzondere sfeer voor jong en oud.

THAILAND - VIETNAM
3rd Cracking Bamboo Festival
From 29 September to 11 October, Françoise Vanhecke is invited as a Singer and Artistic Tutor at the CRACKING BAMBOO 2012!


CRACKING BAMBOO will take place in 2012 for the third time and it will again be one of the most colourful and inspiring projects in the world of music. Thanks to the support by the Goethe Institute, 35 musicians will meet in Bangkok to work out a new program, which we present in Bangkok, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
The project provides the opportunity to work with musicians from fifteen different countries and to exchange professional experiences. Participants are coming from Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Germany, Belgium, Norway, England,Canada, Japan, Korea, Mongolia and Senegal.

Last reminder: June 3 - Pierrot Lunaire

Don't forget: on June 3 at 20:00 in the "Concertgebouw" in Bruges (Kamermuziekzaal) is the performance of Pierrot Lunaire by Schönberg. Performer & direction: Françoise Vanhecke.

Happy birthday mon ami Pierrot: Arco Baleno and Françoise Vanhecke are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the masterpiece "Pierrot Lunaire" by Arnold Schönberg together.

Dordt in Stoom (June 2)

Another performance is coming up. Alongside the 'Pierrot Lunaire' (Schönberg) show on June 3 in Bruges (in which Françoise will not only perform, but direct as well), there is a show in The Netherlands on June 2 on the occasion of the "Dordt in Stoom" happening in Dordrecht.

The ships in the 'Wolwevershaven' and the steam engines on the 'Kuipershaven' will be illuminated by hundreds of little lights on Saturday evening. Around 21.30, a canon will be fired and the 'Damiatebrug' over the port will open. While sailing in a small boat, Françoise will sing the 'Ave Maria' by Gounod. The 'Wolwevershaven' is definitely worth a small visit on that night, so you can fully enjoy this fairylike spectacle of Steam & Light.

The organisation advises to use public transportation to visit the festival or to park on the foreseen spaces. There are free buses available from each of those parking sites that will bring you straight into the heart of the happening. Performance in London

Next Tuesday, on May 22, at 5:30 PM, Françoise will perform at The Belgian Salons at the Belgian Embassy in London (36 Belgrave Square, Belgravia, London SW1X 8QB). On the occasion of the Lecture on Schönenberg by Wim Oers, DPhil-Candidate in History, University of Oxford - Oriel College, there is a musical intermezzo by soprano Françoise Vanhecke, Soprano, Professor of Singing, PhdCandidate of Arts (Music), UGent. She will perform 'Russian Landscape for Françoise', for Soprano and Tape (with extended techniques) by Marina Shmotova, and Romance Romana (pianosolo) by Irma Bilbao.

Naar aanleiding van de 500e verjaardag van Clemens non Papa vroegen de Stedelijke Academie voor Muziek en Woord Clemens non Papa Diksmuide, dé Academie Ieper, afdeling muziek woord en het Stedelijk Conservatorium Brugge 53 componisten om diens Souterliedekens te hercomponeren. Leerlingen van de drie academies voeren een selectie uit deze 'nieuwe' Souterliedekens uit en stelden elk een programma samen van 20’.

Pierrot Lunaire/Arnold Schönberg

2 memorial dates:
Pierrot Lunaire is written by Schönberg 100 years ago.
Albertine Zehme is born in the same year as I am, but 100 years ago!
She asked Schönberg to write the piece on the text from Albert Giraud (B) translated by Hartleben.

Jornadas Internacionales de Arte de Acción del Pumarejo

Next weekend, on Sunday 29 January, there will be a video performance of the Logos Women on the occasion of the "Jornadas Internacionales de Arte de Acción del Pumarejo."

The video is scheduled next Sunday in the Galería Weber-Lutgen at 12:30 and will show fragments from FraMon (Françoise Vanhecke and Moniek Darge).

Puppetplay 'Kleine Pastorale'

As we've mentioned before, next week you can watch Françoise and Damiët van Dalsum in the performance of 'Kleine Pastorale' at Dordrecht.

The show is a puppetplay, a free adaptation of a book by Tytus Czyewiski (1885-1945), with two shepherdesses who talk and sing. The story is an ode to the birth of the child.

The place to be is the garden of Poppentheater Damiët, Aardappelmarkt 9, Dordrecht. There are daily performances from December 14 to December 22 (except on Monday December 19).

New York - Avant Première in Ghent

For the Belgian fans, there is a small avant-première for the New York show on november 11 at 20:00 in Ghent.
On that date, on the occasion of Logos Foundation’s M&M Orchestra - ELF, Françoise Vanhecke and Moniek Darge will present some of the pieces they will also perform in New York. (By the way, remember that Françoise Vanhecke received the New York Women Composers Grant in 2003.)
The show will a.o. see the creation of "Galop" by Françoise Vanhecke and Moniek Darge and the assignment for ISSUE PROJECT ROOM in NY from Moniek Darge. This Indian soundscapecomposition is called "Tamil Nadu" en was realized with support from the Flemish Government.

BASTA DIVA - New show!

After the different shows in Harelbeke, we are pleased to announce that BASTA DIVA-train is still on the move.

The next show will be performed in the "Sint-Pieterszaal" in Kuurne on February 17, 2012 at 20:00.

New York City - ISSUE

As mentioned before, Françoise will act on stage at the ISSUE project in New York City on November 18.

As part of Logos Women (with Moniek Darge), she will perform the soundscape composition "East Crete, Mother Goddess", which is entirely compiled of sounds from Crete.
After soundscaping for some years in south west Crete with mainly nature sounds as the result, the women decided to try their chances in the better-known part of the island. They then settled down on the east coast and started the sound hunting... you'll hear the result.

Reprise of Basta Diva

Due to the huge success of the first show, we are pleased to announce that there will be a new sequence of performances of 'Basta Diva' later this year.
These will be on Sunday, October 23 at 20u00 and Monday, October 24 at 14u30 in the AULA in Harelbeke.

Early birds will only pay 10 euro; on the day of the performance itself, the tickets will be sold at 12 euro.

Voice Conference - Marseille

Françoise has attended PEVOC 9 - the 9th Pan-European Voice Conference at Marseille from August 31 to September 3.

She has a.o. participated in the 8th Workshop of the European Laryngological Society (ELS) and attended the European Academy of Voice Meeting.
